WCC Members flew to New York to sing for Sir Karl Jenkins at Carnegie Hall

WCC hit NEW YORK!!!!

We were so priviledged to have received an invitation from Distinguised Choirs International New York to perform 'The Armed Man - A Mass For Peace' at one of the world's most prestigious concert halls, Carnegie Hall, in the presence of it's composer, Sir Karl Jenkins. This really was a once in a life-time opportunity that we grasped with both hands.

The rehearsal time given to this work before we went was immense and stood us in good stead for the high-pressured and rigourous training we received when we arrived. Worldwide acclaimed Maestro-Director and Conductor, Jonathan Griffith, certainly put us all through our paces and we left each rehearsal exhausted, both mentally and physically.

However, the blood, sweat and toil was worth every second. The feelings we had whilst standing on the stage at Carnegie Hall were of highly charged emotion and pride.

As WCC Musical Director I couldn't help but sneak a look around the stage at our singers, all working with every fibre of strength they could muster to produce a wall of sound that was perfect to the content of the piece.

Well done WCC! We did the UK, the South West, Winscombe, our choir and ourselves as individuals proud. What fantastic and cherished memories of a truly fantastic week!
